In a landmark event underscoring the collaborative efforts in advancing educational infrastructure in Uganda, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament,Rt Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, joined the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Museveni, to officiate the opening ceremony of the Prince Badru Kakungulu Heights. This significant development was spearheaded by the Uganda Muslim Education Association (UMEA) and funded by the Islamic Development Bank.

Founded in 1936 by Prince Badru Kakungulu, UMEA has steadily evolved into a pivotal partner of the Ugandan government in delivering essential educational services across the nation. The organization’s longstanding commitment to educational advancement has been instrumental in fostering growth and development within the sector.

The newly inaugurated Prince Badru Kakungulu Heights is a testament to UMEA's enduring dedication to educational progress. This modern complex, which includes both office and residential rental spaces, is strategically designed to ensure the sustainability of UMEA’s activities. By providing a steady stream of revenue through its rental spaces, the complex will support UMEA’s various educational initiatives and operational needs.

The ceremony was graced by prominent figures, including the First Lady Janet Museveni, who lauded UMEA's efforts and the pivotal role played by the Islamic Development Bank in funding this project.
