December 9, 2024: Christopher Mukasa, a resident of Mukono, has been crowned the grand prize winner of a brand-new Boda Boda motorcycle, popularly known as 'Bob Make,' in a fan raffle organized by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA). Mukasa was randomly selected from thousands of tickets purchased by fans for the AFCON Qualifier match between Uganda Cranes and South Africa’s Bafana Bafana, played on November 15, 2024.

The prize was officially handed over by FUFA Executive Committee Member Rogers Byamukama at a live event held at the FUFA TV studios, located at the FUFA Complex in Mengo. The ceremony was broadcast on FUFA TV, allowing fans across the country to witness the special moment.

Speaking at the event, Byamukama congratulated Mukasa on his win and highlighted the importance of fan engagement in promoting football in Uganda. He also emphasized FUFA's commitment to rewarding passionate supporters of the national team.

“I’m thrilled to receive this prize. This is a dream come true for me,” said Mukasa after receiving the keys to his new motorcycle.

*Other Winners Recognized*

In addition to Mukasa, another lucky fan, Juma Wazimwa, walked away with a Zakayo ball valued at UGX 100,000. This special football is named in honor of Zakayo, Uganda Cranes’ official mascot, and has become a symbol of pride for football fans across the nation.

The event also served as a reminder for eight other winners selected during a previous draw held on November 18, 2024. FUFA has given them a one-week grace period to claim their prizes. These prizes include:

Official Uganda Cranes merchandise.

Tickets to future Uganda Cranes matches.

The grand experience of traveling with the team to Mozambique in March 2025 for a World Cup qualifier match.

*Plans for Unclaimed Prizes*

FUFA has announced that if the remaining winners fail to claim their prizes within the stipulated time, a new draw will be conducted to select alternative winners. The highlight of these prizes is the rare opportunity for a fan to accompany the Uganda Cranes on an international assignment, fostering closer connections between the team and its supporters.

*Fan Engagement Success*

The raffle was part of FUFA’s broader initiative to enhance fan engagement and reward the unwavering support of Ugandans for the national team. The Uganda Cranes have garnered significant attention following their recent performances, with the November match against South Africa ending in a hard-fought draw that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

Through initiatives like these, FUFA aims to build stronger bonds with fans and encourage greater participation in local and international football events.

For updates on future draws and Uganda Cranes matches, fans are encouraged to follow FUFA’s official communication channels.
