The family of renowned Ugandan singer, songwriter, and producer Daddy Andre is grappling with a devastating loss following the untimely death of his elder brother, Oscar Ojambo. Ojambo tragically lost his life in a road accident in Kawempe, Kampala. He was riding on a bodaboda that was struck by a speeding car along a busy stretch in the area. Despite efforts to save him, Ojambo succumbed to his injuries upon arrival at the hospital.

The incident has not only shaken the family but has also drawn the sympathy of the wider community, including fans and members of Uganda’s music industry. Amidst the sorrow, Hon. Ambassador Barbra Nekesa Oundo, the National Treasurer of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), visited the bereaved family to offer her heartfelt condolences.

*Ambassador Nekesa's Compassionate Visit*
Ambassador Nekesa's visit provided much-needed comfort to Daddy Andre, whose real name is Andrew Ojambo, and his family. Known for her compassion and engagement with the community, Ambassador Nekesa conveyed her deep sympathies, acknowledging the immense pain of such a tragic loss.
“This is a painful loss not only for the family but for the entire community. We stand with you during this difficult time and pray for strength to overcome this tragedy,” she said during her visit. Her gesture of solidarity has been widely appreciated as a demonstration of her empathy and leadership.

*Community Support and Calls for Road Safety Awareness*
The tragic accident has reignited discussions around road safety in Uganda, with bodabodas often implicated in fatal incidents due to reckless driving and inadequate safety measures. Ambassador Nekesa used the occasion to advocate for stricter enforcement of road safety regulations, emphasizing the need for drivers and riders to prioritize safety.
“We must address the rampant road accidents that continue to claim innocent lives. Awareness and enforcement of road safety measures are crucial to preventing such tragedies,” she remarked.
Her call to action resonated with community leaders and activists, who have long campaigned for better regulation of urban transportation, particularly concerning bodabodas, which are a popular yet risky mode of transport.
