In a momentous gathering, district leaders and youth in Namayingo District officially endorsed President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as the sole candidate for the 2026 general elections. This declaration was made during the launch of the Namayingo District Youths Empowerment SACCO(NADIYES)on November 23, 2024, an event graced by H.E. Hon. Ambassador Barbara Nekesa Lumolo, the National Treasurer of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), as the chief guest.
The event brought together Members of Parliament, national youth leaders, RDCs, district councillors, and other leaders, underscoring the NRM's focus on grassroots empowerment and development initiatives.

During her address, Hon. Nekesa Lumolo called on Namayingo residents to embrace commercial agriculture, improve access to education, and actively participate in government poverty eradication programs.
She emphasized the dangers of land fragmentation, which has significantly contributed to food insecurity and limited economic growth in the region.
“I want to encourage the people of Namayingo, especially the youth, to focus on commercial agriculture and avoid land fragmentation. It’s essential to process land titles to secure your ownership,” Nekesa advised.
The call to action resonated with the community, as the majority rely on agriculture for their livelihoods.
Nekesa urged smaller landowners to adopt profitable, diversified farming practices to maximize land productivity while ensuring sustainable income generation.
*Contributions to the SACCO*
As a gesture of support, Hon. Nekesa injected Millions of Shs on behalf of the NRM to the Namayingo District Youths Empowerment SACCO(NADIYES).
She pledged continued assistance to help the SACCO grow and advised its members to prioritize transparency and accountability.
“Be transparent and committed to growing the fund. This SACCO is a critical tool for economic transformation, and it is your responsibility to ensure it benefits all members,” Nekesa emphasized.
