Kyejonjo, Uganda – In a historic and transformative event, prominent religious and spiritual leaders from diverse backgrounds, including pastors, sheikhs, and witch doctors, publicly renounced their previous affiliations and pledged allegiance to the Faith of Unity, led by Omukama Ruhanga Owobusobozi Bisaka.

The two-day gathering, organized by believers under the Bufunjo Bukwenda Diocese, took place at Kabyamirwe Intambiro Healing Center in Bufunjo Sub-county, Kyejonjo district. This event marked a significant shift as over 240 individuals embraced the Faith of Unity, forsaking their past religious and spiritual practices.

A Mass Conversion to the Faith of Unity

During the ceremony, more than 35 notorious witch doctors, 15 sheikhs, cocaine traffickers, and 45 senior pastors—including those previously affiliated with major Pentecostal churches in Kampala—denounced their past faiths and embraced Omukama Ruhanga Owobusobozi Bisaka’s teachings.

Among them was Asabye Julius, a former influential pastor overseeing more than 70 churches. Julius made a startling confession, revealing that he had never performed genuine miracles but instead exploited followers for financial gain, using powers from dubious sources. He stated that many churches, particularly in urban centers, operate on supernatural forces with questionable origins, deceiving believers in the name of miracles.

One of the most prominent converts was Apasi Derrick, a well-known witch doctor from Ntwetwe, Kiboga district, who managed one of the largest shrines in the region. Derrick expressed that he had long desired to abandon his past practices but struggled to find the right moment. He acknowledged that joining the Faith of Unity was a decision inspired by a deep conviction to embrace a new path of righteousness and unity.

*Omukama Ruhanga Owobusobozi Bisaka’s Message of Unity and Development*

During the event, Omukama Ruhanga Owobusobozi Bisaka presided over the induction of 270 new members into the Faith of Unity, entrusting them with the responsibility of spreading his message of unity and eliminating disunity among communities.

Addressing the gathering, Bisaka emphasized the importance of development and self-reliance, urging his followers to engage in:

Hard work to improve their livelihoods

Small-scale industries to foster economic growth

Agriculture, aligning their farming activities with the Faith of Unity calendar

He encouraged the new converts to remain steadfast in their newfound faith and to work towards transforming society by spreading the teachings contained in the Book of Omukama Ruhanga Owobusobozi Bisaka.

*Upcoming Visit to Masindi Bukwenda in Arua City*

Following this successful gathering, Omukama Ruhanga Owobusobozi Bisaka is set to visit Masindi Bukwenda in Arua City from April 4th to 7th, 2024. During this visit, he is expected to:

Mobilize more people to join the Faith of Unity

Strengthen the movement’s presence in West Nile

Rally support for NRM and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, in his capacity as the chief mobilizer for the ruling party

Given his influential role in grassroots mobilization, Bisaka is likely to emphasize the alignment of the Faith of Unity’s principles with the government’s vision for socio-economic transformation.

The mass conversion of religious and spiritual leaders in Kyejonjo underscores the growing influence of the Faith of Unity in Uganda. The movement, led by Omukama Ruhanga Owobusobozi Bisaka, continues to attract followers from different backgrounds, advocating for unity, economic empowerment, and political mobilization.

As he prepares for his Arua City visit, the impact of this recent event in Kyejonjo is expected to resonate across the country, influencing more individuals to reconsider their spiritual and ideological beliefs. Whether this shift will reshape Uganda’s religious landscape remains to be seen, but one thing is certain—the Faith of Unity is gaining momentum.
