Patrick Bitature, a renowned Ugandan businessman and philanthropist, has once again demonstrated his commitment to community development by significantly contributing to the construction of the St. Karoli Lwanga Rugarama Catholic Church in Mitooma District. Bitature, along with other prominent business figures, helped raise an impressive UGX 1.7 billion in just a single 30-minute meeting, showcasing their collective dedication to philanthropic efforts and community upliftment.
Bitature's involvement in this noble cause highlights his long-standing reputation as a supporter of various social initiatives. Known for his entrepreneurial success, Bitature is the chairman of the Simba Group of Companies, which spans multiple sectors including telecommunications, energy, and real estate. The ceremony to celebrate Mzee Daudi Bangirana's 80th birthday and 48 years of marriage, held in Nyamiyaga, Bitereko, Ruhinda-Mitooma District, became a momentous occasion with the commissioning of the state-of-the-art church. The event was graced by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who praised the Tayebwa family for their dedication and hard work. The President commended Bitature and his peers for their substantial contributions, which played a pivotal role in the church's completion.
Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa, whose vision and leadership spearheaded the church's construction, expressed his deep gratitude to Bitature and other benefactors. Tayebwa highlighted that the funds raised from his friends in the business community were crucial in realizing the project. Alongside Bitature, notable contributors included Tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia, Godfrey Kirumira, Amos Nzeyi, Patrick Bitature, Toyota Kaguta, and Ham Kiggundu.
Archbishop Lambert Bainomugisha of the Ankole Archdiocese praised Tayebwa for his extraordinary generosity, noting that the Deputy Speaker's actions inspired many and demonstrated how individuals in positions of power could still remain humble and give back to their communities. The Archbishop's words echoed the sentiments of many, recognizing the importance of community support and cooperation.
